A RESOLUTION congratulating and commending Phyllis Burdge and her service dog, Justice.
Whereas, Phyllis Burdge had the first service dog, Justice, completed the first PB&J American WalkAbout journey on March 13, 2007, in Hays; and
Whereas, Burdge had the first official service dog in the state of Kansas and worked with former Kansas Senator and current Congressman Jerry Moran to pass legislation guaranteeing full public access to service dogs for physically disabled people, and
Whereas,, After spontaneouse remission from multiple sclerosis, Burdge completed graduate school in Indiana hospital chaplain residency in Colorado and two AmeriCorps
